I was browsing the net and came across a book called The Retreat of Reason. According to one reviewer “The author, Anthony Browne demonstrates the excesses and drawbacks of political correctness, and the need to let public debate to be dominated by arguments, facts and reason, rather than emotion, dogmatism, and intolerance of dissent.”
I must say that I find that many of the commenters here immediately resort to personal attacks but lack the patience or ability to reason, to discuss issues, to present arguments, or to deal with counter arguments. When they do present an argument, if I do not agree with it, they are offended.
Is this caused by our education system?
