One of our learners mentioned the “suggestopedic” learning method developed by Georgi Lozanov. As I understand it, this method stresses the need for the learner to relax, and to forget many of the constraints that society and culture have placed on him or her. The learner needs to recapture the guilelessness and happy curiosity of the child. Lozanov suggests using soft classical music as an introduction and backdrop to learning to help the learner relax. Another part of the method is to use content to suggest to the learner that he or she can succeed, and to help him or her visualize their goal.

I wonder if any of you have any experienced with this approach. I think it makes sense. I plan to introduce some of these ideas into The Linguist system.
