Interesting conclusion. I agree on that. I don´t know if the brain grows but it feels a bit sharper. Sometimes learning a second language is tough and extra "beneficts" like that are necessary to keep us motivated. Also. for someone who likes challenges in themselves, learning a second language turns out to be a big one.
