Good talk! I find it interesting that some super passionate language learners were not the best language students in school. Robert said that his Italian teacher didn’t approve of his Italian. I wasn’t always the highest scoring student myself. There is something to be said for passion driving success. You are both right. Language learning is not a competitive sport, it’s about communication.
